MAudio Trigger Finger MIDI Controller with Pads

Trigger Finger puts the power to program and perform expressive percussion and drum parts at your fingertips. Its 16 velocity-sensitive pads are perfect for playing the drum sounds in your favorite software, launching loops and samples, or even controlling video projections -- and applying pressure to the pads can generate any MIDI controller you wish. Trigger Finger also gives you 8 knobs and 4 faders that are freely assignable to MIDI parameters such as volume, pan, pitch, and effects. Pre-programmed maps for Reason, Live, GM Drum, XG Drum, iDrum, and more make setup a snap -- and full programmability lets you customize the unit to fit your needs. Settings are easy to store via 16 presets, and M-Audio’s free Enigma librarian software for PC and Mac lets you create a collection of even more. A simple USB cable is all it takes to connect and power Trigger Finger with your computer. It’s time to take full control of your drum programming—and Trigger Finger is the right tool for the job.

Even if you're not a beat based musician, The Maudio Trigger Finger is still worth buying, as it gives you a different way of interfacing with your software, and at just $199 you'd be mad not to buy one!

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Combinator - part II

As an aspiring Combinator aficionado you will probably go through these two phases:

Phase 1: Awe. "Woah, I'm gonna build like the biggest, baddest, meanest synth evverr!".

Phase 2: Sanity. "OK, that was fun... but now I want to create something truly useful".

Combinators don't have to be gargantuan, complex CPU hogs - they can be lean and efficient too. We're going to continue with the theme we started in part one of this article and build a few more "replacement" Combinators; the term 'replacement' signifying that these Combinators can do everything that the original devices do, and then some - so why not let them replace the standard devices in your compositions?

Why I'm Selling It

This has been my audio interface for the last couple of years but I'm moving to Canada in a couple of months where the voltage is different. I have looked after it well and the condition of the unit is very good. It comes with a AC power adapter, Installation CD with a version of Cubase and a USB lead. I will also copy the latest drivers and manual onto a CD.

I will be sorry to see it go and it has been an excellent piece of kit for the following reasons:-
1. The audio quality is brilliant. I've recorded everything through it guitar, bass, vocals etc. and the results are excellent, as you would expect with Tascam.

2. Using the Tascam as a midi controller allows you 'hands on' control of your software such as Reason, Logic or Cubase. I can't tell you how much fun a sequencer is once you have 9 sliders to play with!

3. The unit is solidly built and the drivers are very stable - I've had no compatability problems and I've used it on four different PC's.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to pick up a piece of pro audio for a fraction of the original £399 I paid.

Go on treat yourself!
